Subject: TX Coaching Opportunity
Coldspring-Jones, a 3A high school an hour NE of Houston will need a
debate coach for 1998-99. The squad returns 3 CX teams and 3 LDers and
there will be approximately 8 freshmen novices. Most of the kids are
attending camp this summer and the program is "decently" funded. I have
requested enough funds for ten out-of-towns and ten in-town (Houston)
tournaments as well as additional funds for UIL practice tournaments. We
hope to hire someone with Composite Social Studies; however,
opportunities exist within the Math, Science, and English departments
too. The administration is VERY supportive of the program and this is an
excellent opportunity for someone desiring to "gain experience." If
