Employer of Hired Judge Guns for the Glenbrooks
The Glenbrooks will be run on Saturday, November 21, Sunday,
November
22, and Monday, November 23rd. We offer Policy, LD & IE events. We
are
looking to hire a few good judges for the tournament. We pay $100.00
for two days and $125.00 for three days. If you are coming from out
of
town, we will have some housing available. If you would like to be a
hired adjudication gun at the Glenbrooks, please email Matt Whipple
at:
mwhipple@glenbrook.k12.il.us.
You will need to provide the following information:
1) First and Last Name
2) Event you wish to judge
3) Number of Days you will judge/Sat, Sun, and/or Mon...
4) Social Security Number for Payment by School District.
5) Address
6) Telephone
7) Email Address
8) Housing Needs
9) Gender
*The tournament assumes the right to place you in a particuar pool
of
judges based on our needs. The tournament directors will determine
whether you are placed into the Varsity or JV pool in either policy
or
LD.
*Gender info is for housing placement only. We typically do not
house
women and men together. No, I do not want to debate this. Email my
School Board with your commentary on this issue!!
*You are officially hired by the tournament only when you are
contacted by Matt Whipple with confirmation. Do not assume that you
are hired on the basis of an EMail that you have sent to Whipple.
*All judge info is confidential. We do not sell/provide addresses or
SSN's for any reason. However, we might email you again to see if
you
would judge at other tournaments during the year.
*Submission of SSN is required by school district. Having the SSN
ahead of time allows us to cut checks BEFORE you arrive so that you
get $$ immediately. The district does not allow us to pay in cash.
*If you miss debate rounds, the payment fee reverts to $8.00 for
every round judged. We expect hired judges to be present and on
time.
All of this sounds extremely onerous. However, the "Glenbrooks" is
an
exciting experience. At least that is what I have been told. The
competition is fierce. Join the Judging Ranks now before its too
late!
