Subject: Tournament Invitation

Arthur L. Johnson HS, in Clark, NJ, will host its first ever Tournament on
Saturday, 20 January 2001, rounds starting as close to 9 am as we can
manage. Our goal in the LD tournament (at Varsity and JV levels) is to
provide 4 prelim rounds and two championship rounds. Full information is
provided in the formal invitation.

Clark is conveniently located near the Garden State Parkway, NJ Turnpike and
Amtrak.

The tournament also features Congress and Extemporaneous Speech; debaters
may double enter in Extemp, and vice versa.

For a full invitation, including fees, lodging info. and tournament rules,
please backchannel me at aljforensics@clarkschools.org.

Hoping to see many of you there,

"The Universtiy is a Paradise. Rivers of Knowledge are there. Arts and
Sciences flow from thence. Counsell tables are Horti conclusi (as it is
said in the Cantilces), Gardens that are walled in, and they are Fontes
signati, Wells that are sealed up; bottomless dpeths of unsearchable
Counsels there.

--John Donne

Referring to one's time in college, Harriet D. Vane said, "To waste three
years which are unlike anything else in one's lifetime is ridiculous."

--Dorothy L. Sayers, in "Gaudy Night"
