Subject: 2000 colorado classic preliminary information
dear all who are interested,
the colorado classic IS going to occur this year. there are a few things
i would like to say in public. please backchannel if you have any further
questions (or if you would like an invitation - if you are a student,
please provide your coach's contact info).
1. the colorado classic will be happening on november 3 and 4, 2000 on
the university of colorado at boulder campus.
2. the tournament of champions has designated us with semifinal bids in ld
and policy debate.
3. we are trying our hardest to balance a fundraising activity and make
the tournament accessible to as many people as possible. thus, we are
lowering our fees!
4. the tournament hotel is the regal harvest house. the rate for a room
(up to 4 per room) is $96.00/night (the best we could negotiate for a
block so close to the university). please call the harvest house directly
and ask to speak with beth thomas by october 15, 2000. the number is
303.443.3850.
5. we are again going to offer 6 single fligt preliminary integrated
(novice and varsity) ld debates, breaking all 4-2s (up to 32), 5
preliminary integrated (novice and varsity) policy debates, breaking to
octofinals. we are also going to have novice break-out semifinal rounds.
we will also offer OO, USX, FX, HI, DI, POE, and DUO (3 rounds to
semifinals).

note: invitations will be going out soon. the university is in the
process of deeming which classrooms we may use because classes are still
being scheduled/moved around, etc. we will get the invitations out to you
as soon as the university confirms our specific rooms.
