Greetings,
The 13th Annual Grapevine Classic Speech and Debate tournament will be held
in Grapevine, Texas (1/2 way between Dallas and Ft. Worth)on September
22-23, 2000.
The Grapevine Classic is a TFA qualifier for all eligible events and a TOC
qualifier in Semi finals of both LD and Policy debate. We host Varsity
Lincoln Douglas, Varsity CX, Novice LD and CX, and 9 individual events. The
tournament starts at 4:00 pm on Friday and ends sometime in the late evening
of Saturday.
Last year there were 85 VCX teams from 7 states and 105 LDers from 6 states
in attendance. 69 schools entered our tournament last year.
Schools will be expected to provided judges, some judges will be hired for
Varsity LD, policy, and some individual events. Our expectations for judges
are simply,we expect them to be responsible, professional and on time.
Further information about fees, hotel, schedule, events, etc. will be in the
invitation that will be mailed to the school's Director.
Grapevine is NOT able to accept independent entries. School affliation and
an adult supervisor are a requirement.
