The Greenhill School will host its fourteenth annual tournament, The
Greenhill Fall Classic, on September 15th - 17th, 2000. Last year 112 policy
teams and 133 Lincoln Douglas Debaters from 20 states competed in our
tournament. We are one of a handful of high school tournaments in the
country to be granted Tournament of Champion qualifier status at the
octofinals level in both Policy and LD. We also have a full slate of
individual events including poetry, prose, extemporaneous speaking, dramatic
and humorous interpretation, original oratory and duet acting. Invitations
should be received by all schools on our mailing list within the next day or
two.
* All schools in debate should plan to arrive on
Thursday night. Students and coaches are welcomed to watch the finals of the
Greenhill Round Robin (policy) during registration. Registration for
schools with debate only or debate and individual events will be at the
Crowne Plaza on Thursday night.
* LD and speech participants may plan to leave at any
time Sunday. Policy debaters in the quarters or better should schedule
flights to leave at 5pm or later.
* No "independent" entries will be accepted. All
schools/coaches must be aware, and agreeable to the idea, that students from
their school are competing at our tournament. No hybrid teams. No
exceptions.
* Each school is guaranteed one policy team and two
lders due to space constraints. Schools may request/apply for a second
policy team. Please do not make flight arrangements for second teams without
speaking to/emailing Aaron Timmons or Alex Pritchard.
* Please call the Crowne Plaza hotel 972.980.8877 for
room reservations. Ask for the Greenhill Debate/Fall Classic room block.
All qualified individuals wishing to be hired to judge for all
events should email me for information. We pay well and the food is good!
