Overview of Information

Entries:
Please fax, or e-mail your entries following the information on the first

write all non-sweeps entries on a separate page. We will probably be able to
accept all non-sweeps I.E. and non-sweeps debate entries.

Registration:
Registration will begin at 3:00 on Friday in room A2075. Registration is for
coaches only! Our classes don't let out until 4:15 so all students, judges,
and coaches who aren't at registration need to be in the school cafeteria
until we post rounds. Please plan to arrive before 4:00 or after 4:30 as
parents and buses picking up students cause quite a jam.

Judging:
One of our biggest goals is to have qualified judges for your competitors.
We ask that you bring qualified judges with you. For those who need to hire
judges, we can do that at a rate of $70.00 per debate judge and $50.00 for IE
judge. One judge is required for every two C-X teams and for every four L-D
entries. For scheduling reasons, we ask that you not use the same judge(s)
to fulfill both of your debate commitments. A student may judge novice
debate if he/she has at least 150 NFL debate points. Please include the
qualifications of IE and varsity debate judges (# of rounds, former
competitor, etc.) with your entry. Also, please ask your judges to not write
"oral" and not do a written critique, or on IEs to simply write "yes, yes,
yes, yes, yes," and give 5th place. This doesn't tell the coach or the
competitor anything. We know this has bothered coaches and competitors a
like.

Awards:
We will give awards to the top three sweeps schools. Debaters reaching
quarters will receive awards as well as the top three speakers in each of the
four divisions. 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place trophies will be given in all
events. 4th, 5th and 6th places will also receive recognition certificates.

Events:
All TFA rules will be followed. The Nov/Dec LD topic will be used.

Thanks- Hope you all attend
