Dear Debate Coaches:

The George Mason University Patriot High School debate tournament will be held January 7-8, 2005.  Registration will be in Robinson Hall B Lobby at 10:00-11:00 on January 7.  The rounds will start at 12:30 with four rounds back to back.  Saturday, the tournament will begin at 8:00AM with the two final prelim rounds followed by quarterfinals in switch side and octafinals in Lincoln-Douglas.

There will be the usual 4 divisions of debate: Lincoln-Douglas, 4 person Novice, and Varsity and Junior Varsity switch side debate.  You may enter ½ of a 4-person unit if necessary.

Fees are $25.00 per debaters and a $25.00 registration fee per school.  Hired judges are available, if you ask early, for $60.00 per team.  Lincoln-Douglas judges are $40.00 per debaters.

The tournament hotel is the University Center Comfort Inn at a rate of $59.00 for up to four people in a room.  The phone number is 703-591-5900.
