Subject: The Great Lakes States Championship Round Robin (GLSCRR)

Illinois - Indiana - Michigan - Minnesota
New York - Ohio - Pennsylvania - Wisconsin

BASIC IDEA
We are inviting the state champions from the eight Great Lakes States to
compete in a championship round robin at St. Edward HS, in Lakewood, Ohio.
The winning team will be declared the Great Lakes States Champions.

WHY A REGIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP
When the NFL stopped inviting state champions, the extra meaning from
getting to advance to another level after winning a state tournament was
lost. To an extent, our event will re-establish that. Also, This event
can draw attention to a region of the country that has some fantastic
debate, and enhance the region's prestige. It also provides a foundation
for teams that may not have much of an opportunity to travel to larger
tournaments to represent their states. I think we may be surprised at how
competitive all of the state champions are.

WHEN
The GLSCRR will be held on Friday, May 8th, and Saturday, May 9th. This
is two weeks after the TOC, and two weeks before NCFL Nationals. It is
also before the start of AP testing. Exact times have not yet been
determined, but the Friday start time will be in the afternoon, and there
will be three rounds on Friday. The remaining four rounds will be on
Saturday, followed by an awards ceremony.
