Subject: eigth annual Georgetown Day invitational
dear friends,
You are cordially invited to attend the eigth annual Georgetown Day High
School Debate Invitational to be held January 23-25, 1998. The following are
the highlights of the ivitation. To recevie a full invite in the mail, email
jimgentile@aol.com with your name and adress.
Format: We will offer seven prelims of varsity debate; time limits will be
8-3-5 w/ 10 minutes prep.
Entries: We may have to limit you to two teams. If you wish extra teams,
please indicate and we will make every effort to accomodate you. Please
return the entry form ASAP but no later than JANUARY 19, 1998. You may
register via email to jimgentile@aol.com (NOTE: THIS YEAR, EMAIL ENTRIES DO
NOT GO TO THIS ACCOUNT; RATHER, THEY SHOULD GO TO JIMGENTILE@AOL.COM.) Fax
your entry c/o Jim Gentile at (301) 933 7628. For late changes or other
crises, call Jim Gentile @ 301 933 9522.
Fees: The entry fee is $60.00 per team, $10.00 per school (regardless of the
number of teamss). Judges @ $75.00 per 1/2 judge.
Housing: We will offer housing for Friday and Saturday nights to students
outside the dc area. Please indicate your housing needs ASAP, especially if
you need housing thursday and/or sunday nights. For hotel accomodations, we
recommnend the
Ramada Inn of Bethesday, MD (301-654-1000)
Transportation: If you are travelling by train or plane and need to be picked
up, let us know.
Schedual
Registration will be from 3:00 to 3:30 PM on Friday the 23rd. Rounds 1-3
will be held Friday, rounds 4-7 will be on Saturday (beginning at 9:00 AM)
and octas through finals will be held Sunday (beginning at 8:00 AM).
