Subject: Ohio Valley Tournament
THE ROAD TO THE TOURNAMENT OF CHAMPIONS CONTINUES
THE KENTUCKY OHIO VALLEY INVITATIONAL MOVES TO THE FIRST WEEKEND IN
DECEMBER.
It's my understanding that the annual Princeton High School Debate
Tournament in Ohio will not be held this year. Subsequently, we are moving
the annual Kentucky Ohio Valley Invitational from its traditional date in
December to Friday, Saturday, Sunday, December 5,6 , and 7. The following
major changes will be incorporated:
1. The tournament will begin late on Friday, as did the Princeton
tournament and will conclude with elimination rounds on Sunday.
2. The tournament will no longer be limited to high schools that border
Kentukcy or are along the Ohio River. Instead, we will open it up to any
school that wishes to attend.
3. The tournament will be limited to Policy and Lincoln-Douglas debate.
4. The name of the tournament will be changed to the Kentucky Ohio Valley
Open Invitational.
We welcome your reaction to this change in dates. Please let us know if
you want an invitation. We do not plan a large mailing. At present, we
are making arrangements with the Harley Hotel for housing.
Finally, THE OHIO VALLEY INVITATIONAL IS A TOC QUALIFIER AT THE SEMI-FINAL
LEVEL IN BOTH POLICY AND LINCOLN-DOUGLAS DEBATE.
