Dear Debate Coach,

	The Columbia University Parliamentary Debate Team is pleased to invite you
to our inaugural High School Invitational Tournament on January 21 - 22,
2000.
Our tournament will feature policy debate, Lincoln-Douglas debate, and
Extemporaneous speech, each offered at the Varsity and Junior Varsity level.
	Our tournament staff is dedicated to running an efficient and fulfilling
tournament and draws upon the strength of a team that holds the largest
annual collegiate parliamentary debate tournament.  Noel Selegzi, of Hunter
High School will direct our tab room.
	Please take the time to read and complete the following materials found in
this packet:

§ Varsity and JV Speech Entry Form
§ Fee Schedule and worksheet

Please complete and return these materials to Robin Effron with a postmark
no later than December 16, 1999.  Entries by e-mail are strongly
encouraged.  Columbia University breaks for winter recess on December 22,
1999, so we cannot guarantee participation for schools whose registration
is received after this date.

Entries received after December 16 will incur a $35 penalty per school.
Changes made to registration after January 3, 2000 will be penalized at $10
per add/drop and changes after January 19, 2000 will be penalized at $20
per add/drop.
