Subject: LEXINGTON WINTER TOURNAMENT
Time for more Lexington propaganda: we hope everyone will
come to the Lexington Winter Tournament, held on January 14-16,
2000 (MLK weekend). We house all competing students and provide
meals during the tournament. Boston and Cambridge are only ten
miles away; Concord and Lexington are attractive and historic. We
have excellent judging and competition, offer varsity and novice
policy and an open LD division, and are a quarters TOC qualifier in
both divisions.
Southwest Airlines offers very attractive fares into
Providence and Manchester (NH); both of these airports are about an
hour's drive from Lexington. We're thirty minutes from Boston
Logan, on a good day.
Paper invitations will be distributed at the Glenbrooks, and
will also be mailed soon. You can get an electronic version by
backchanneling to this email address.
An additional enticement is our annual talent show, with a
truly millennial group of performers:
Jane Boyd will sing the Jewel Song from FAUST, and will join Richard B.
Sodikow in selections from TRISTAN UND ISOLDE.
Sheryl A. Kaczmarek, Lynne Coyne, and Phyllis Hirth will perform
"Mister Sandman."
Tina Valkanoff will present fourteen off-case positions in
under three minutes.
