Subject: Great Midwestern Novice Championship
On March 31 and April 1, Iowa City West High will be hosting the Great
Midwestern Novice Championships. The tournament, which is referred to by
many as "Novice Nationals", hosts first-year LD and policy debaters from
around the nation. This is a great experience for any novice and well
worth the trip. Many novices go into their second year of debate
completely unprepared for varsity experience, especially on the national
level, due to a lack of novice opportunities. The GMNC is a great
opportunity to reward them and give them a taste of national competition
at an appropriate level.
Although many schools have received invitations, we would like to see this
tournament become accessible to more teams. If you would like any
