Subject: The Rex Fleming/Nov 12-13/Houston
Please put us on your calendar!!!!!!!!!!
The Rex Fleming Memorial Tournament will be held November 12-13th at
Memorial High School in Houston, Texas. In case you are not familiar with
our tournament, here are a few features that we would like to brag about:
*Semi-finals TOC Qualifier in Policy and Lincoln/Douglas!
*TFA State qualifier!
*5 rounds of prelims in CCX and CLD breaking to Double-Octafinals!
(note- UIL does not allow Sunday competition. After consulting several
veteran coaches we have decided to cut CCX back to 5 rounds of prelims to
allow more teams to enter and to break to Double-Octafinals!)
*4 rounds of ncx and nld prelims with ALL FLOW JUDGES! (including extra time
between elim rounds to allow for thorough oral critiques!)
*The ABSOLUTE BEST FLOW JUDGING that we can attract in policy AS WELL AS
Lincoln/Douglas Debate!
*Fantastic hospitality with a full vegan menu for coaches and judges!
* Experienced paid judges in all individual events rounds!
* 2 quality hotels within 2 miles of the school(one is 2 blocks away) with
flat rates of $39 and $54 rooms. (This may change slightly but I am
currently involved in a bidding war to insure the lowest possible rates!)
* 2 local airports with great fares!
*An excellent warm-up for the Glenbrooks!
Last year we hosted some of the finest competitors and coaches in the
country from 5 different states. Please, feel free to ask any of them for a
reference about our tournament. We hope that you will be able to join us in
Houston this fall. Our philosophy is simple. Great competition, great
judges, great food and a tight schedule!
