This past weekend was the Minnesota State Debate tournament. During the
last two weeks, people qualified for the tournament through Section
tournaments around the state.

Some interesting notes:
-In both divisions, the team that won the tournament both broke bottom (8th)
seed.
-In both divisions, although both Apple Valley (in policy) and Hopkins (in
LD) have advanced to the final round 3 times, this is the first time they
have been the champions.
-In policy, there were no senior participants in the semifinals. Eagan and
Apple Valley are all Juniors, Edina and St. Thomas Academy are all
sophomores.
-In policy, all of the Semifinalists were also their section champions.
