This past Friday and Saturday, September 24th & 25th, McNeil High School
of Austin, Texas, was privileged to host it's annual T.F.A. Qualifying
Tournament.
The results of Varsity Lincoln Douglas are as follows:

Plano Sr: Rick Cofer vs. Westwood: Steve Pattyn
Though only 8:00pm, the finalists mutually declined a debate in the final
round in favor of a coin toss. By some cruel twist of fate,
one side lost the toss.
But at the request of both finalists, a duel championship was declared
for purposes of the LD-L post.
It shall remain said, however, that Mr. Cofer did in fact leave the
tournament with the 1st place trophy in his possession. [wink]
The Championship Sweepstakes Trophy went to Westlake High School. Second
Place Sweepstakes went to Plano Senior High School. Third Place
Sweepstakes went to Round Rock High School.
Congratulations to all who competed.
Especial Kudos go out to Mr. Cofer and Mr. Pattyn.
