WAIT LIST FOR AT-LARGE BIDS:
Several have called to ask when they will know whether they have been removed from the wait list and entered in the tournament. There is no way to answer this question. It depends entirely when and if "drops" occur. In the past we have had drops the day before the tournament begins.
IF YOU ASK US TO HIRE A JUDGE IT IS NOW TOO LATE TO GET YOUR OWN JUDGE
For those who requested a hired judge the arrangements have already been made; we are committed. Therefore, if you asked us to hire a judge and you decide to bring your own, you can do so but you will still have to pay the hired judge fee.
JUDGE PHILOSOPHY STATEMENTS:
Each judge in the tounament is required to submit a judge philosophy statement before you arrive in Lexington. THE DIRECTOR IS RESPONSIBLE FOR NOTIFYING THE SCHOOL JUDGE OF THIS RESPONSIBLITY. WE WILL NOTIFY THE GUEST JUDGES.
Send philosophies to Aaron Timmons at : timmonsa@greenhill.org
Aaron prefers email but will except a fax at 972-404-8217.
DINNER RESERVATIONS AT THE UPSCALE RESTAURANTS:
The TOC is the same weekend as the Kentucky Derby in Louisville and UK's graduation. Thus, seating at the better restaurants in Lexington will be in great demand. The two we recommend are as follows:
Reservations at Emmett's: Emmett's, an upscale restaurant owned by my daughter, Elizabeth and her husband, Joe, is open seven days a week for dinner and Sunday for brunch. Since Friday evening, May 3rd is Derby Eve, the restaurant will be packed with people waiting to go to Louisville the next day. I suggest you select either Saturday or Sunday evening. Reservations will be a must since this is a Derby weekend. The telephone number is 559-245-4444.
Reservations at Holly Hill: Holly Hill is located about eight miles from Lexington and owned and managed by Ouita Papka, a former UK national champion, and her husband, Chris. Holly Hill will also be packed with Derby people since it is in thr middle of the Horse country. They will be opened for dinner Friday and Saturday evening and Sunday for brunch. The telephone number is 859-846-4732.
