Subject: [CX-L] TOC: 2002-03 Qualifying Tournaments
THE ROAD TO THE FOURTH TOC OF THE TWENTY-FIRST CENTURY
DATES: SATURDAY, SUNDAY, MONDAY
MAY 3,4, and 5, 2003
TOURNAMENT HOTEL: RAMADA INN (FORMERLY THE HARLEY)
IMPORTANT CONSIDERATIONS FOR TOC 2003
1. This is the definitive final list of qualifying tournaments for 2002-2003. We
will not add or subtract from this list during the current season. If a tournament
director would like to have us consider a change in the status of their tournament
or to be added or deleted from this list of qualifying tournaments, please send me
bfore April 25, 2003, the complete results and a complete list of all schools and
teams in attendance this school year.
2. A team or an LD debater must win at least one elimination round to be eligible
for a "ghost bid." For example, if a tournament breaks at the double-octos level
and is a TOC qualifier at the octos level, if two people or teams from the same
school met in octos round, a ghost bid would be awarded. If a tournament breaks at
the octos level and is a TOC qualifier at the quarters level, if two people or teams
from the same school met in the quarters, a ghost bid would be awarded.
3. In team debate, you must have two qualifiers as a team to qualify for the TOC.
If a team does not have two quals as a team, then it should submit for an at-large
bid.
