Hi, everyone. Through absolutely no fault of their own, the TOC website
directors have a largely incomplete list of the fully TOC-qualled people for
1998-1999. A couple of weeks ago, I put together a more extensive list
compiling the results from both the TOC website and Phil Kerpen's site. This
list is missing results from Clark, a couple from Crestian, and most from
Berkeley, but should otherwise be more or less complete.

Unless I've miscounted, this makes 61 people currently TOC-qualled. Of those,
32 have two bids, 10 have three bids, 6 have four bids, 7 have five bids, 4
have six bids, and 2 have eight bids -- Beth O'Connor from Hunter, and Noah
Grabowitz from Hendrick Hudson. With Berkeley and Stanford coming up for the
California people, and the Vestavia Hills tournament in a couple of weeks in
the South, it's not looking very good for at-large bids this year.
An interesting note: The NYC-area CFL diocese qualifying tournament will
enable six debaters to go to Catholic Nationals. There are fourteen debaters
in that diocese who are TOC-qualled, and six with at least five bids. That
should be quite the tournament.
