I don't think this has been posted yet - this is directly from the sheet
handed out today at NFL Nats.
POSSIBLE 2002 NFL LINCOLN-DOUGLAS DEBATE TOPICS
The following topics will be published in the September, 2001 Rostrum. The
results of the balloting will determine the 2002 Lincoln-Douglas topics for:
January-February (3rd choice), March-April (2nd choice), Nationals (1st
choice), September-October (5th choice), and November-December (4th choice).
Strict construction ought to be valued above judicial activism as a basis
for U.S. Supreme Court decisions.
Limiting the freedom of expression of adults is justified by society's
interest in protecting children.
Laws which protect citizens from themselves are justified.
When the United States is engaged in military conflict, the demands of
national security ought to supercede conflicting claims of individual
rights.
As a general principle, legislators' obligation to represent their
constituents ought to be valued above their personal judgment.
As a general principle, citizens' moral obligation to the future mandates
sacrifice in the present.
Oppressive government is more desirable than no government.
When in conflict, the pursuit of medical knowledge ought to be constrained
by concern for the common good.
When in conflict, academic freedom in U.S. high schools ought to be valued
above community standards.
Developed nations are morally responsible for aiding developing countries.
