Subject: Re: NFL Nationals topic and an appeal for topics

Just got my April Rostrum, so here it is, the NFL Nationals topic:

Resolved: Inaction in the face of injustice makes an individual morally
culpable.

Strikes me as a pretty darn good choice.

Additionally, in the April Rostrum, there is an appeal to send LD topic
suggestions to Lowell Sharp at Golden High School, 701 24th Street, Golden ,
CO 80401-2398 by April 20, 2000.

You can certainly do that, but if folks would like to submit suggestions to
the ld-l for discussion and consideration, I will compile them and submit
them en masse to Lowell via email. It is really best if you provide some
justification/explanation as to why you think a topic is
good/educational/debateable/etc. LD Topic Wording Committee members
consistently say they like to have this when working on honing the
submissions down to a list of ten from which all NFL schools get to vote for
their favorite five.

I'll be serving on the LD topic wording committee again this year, and I
know I appreciate any explanation that can be given regarding why those
submitting topics believe the topics they are submitting are quality ones.

So, lets start some discussion on two fronts: the NFL Nationals topic,
and submissions of topics to be considered for 2001 Lincoln-Douglas debate.
